Okay so a few days ago Jen Soska made a comment about how one of her dream projects would be to make an Addams Family movie. As soon as she said this straight away I was totally psyched for the potential of this project. I admit I'm a little bias just because it's Jen and Sylvia and I love them to bits but still, it really would be a brilliant project for them. And we're not talking remaking the movies or anything. The Addams Family has been around in comic form since 1938 and Jen and Sylvia are both huge fans of this and all things Addams Family. They wouldn't fuck it up, I can honestly put my hand on my heart and say that I truly believe that this project would be so fucking wicked, you'd be silly not to have faith!
Paramount Pictures are the ones who have the rights to the franchise and so with all these exciting thoughts in mind, fellow geeks Andrew Rose and Jeff Miller have started up a Facebook page as ways of a petition and for us to vent to Paramount how much we want them to let Jen and Sylvia get their beautifully macabre mittens on this project!
I lovethe Addams Family. I love the original comics that brought them to us throughThe New Yorkerin 1938. I love the stories that have been told through these comics, the television shows, and films. I have been asked if I would ever do a remake and I have said most likely not. I would, however, love to have a chance to tell a greatAddams Familystory. And I believe we can. Jen Soska

So anyone who reads my blog on a regular basis, or knows anything about me...you will know that I have a lot of love for the little Canadian movie known as Dead Hooker in a Trunk! This madcap super awesome movie is the brainchild of two of my ultimate BFF's, that would be twin geeklings Jen and Sylvia Soska! Jen and Sylvia are two of the most awesome people you could ever have the pleasure of knowing. Not only are they wonderfully macabre, they are also two genuinely caring individuals, as their efforts to get everyone to donate blood through their Twisted Twins Massive Blood Drive proves. (Look out for my cameo in the video, flashing my bright blood red hair! Haha.)
Jen and Sylvia, along with their amazing partner in crime C.J. Wallis, are seriously going places. They have the talent and the determination to make it big and it is a joy to be friends with these guys. Not only did I have the pleasure to be part of the World Premier of Dead Hooker in a Trunk at Ghouls on Film in Birmingham, England in February 2010, a festival that was organised by my dear friend Nia Edwards-Behi...I also got to give it its Scottish Premier at my own festival, Jennifer's Bodies, this February in my hometown of Arbroath, Scotland.
The movie was released on DVD here in the UK this past May and sold out pretty much instantly! It is now to receive its UK television premier on The Horror Channel on the 29th July. To add to the geekiness of this premier, it is being introduced by Emily Booth, an amazing horror nerd who was at the Ghouls on Film premier. She's a lovely, gorgeous girl and I think it's brilliant that she's the one introducing the film!
So yes, horror geeks in the UK, if you have not already purchased the DVD (you totally should by the way!), you can check out the insanity that is Dead Hooker in a Trunk on The Horror Channel this July. Jen and Sylvia already have the support of Eli Roth and pretty much every female working in the genre. They are at work on their second feature, starring the wonderful Katherine Isabelle, otherwise known to horror nerds as Ginger from Ginger Snaps. These two insanely awesome nerdtastic twins and C.J. Wallis are shaking up the horror industry, and it is my advice to hop on the Soska train now...you won't regret it! <3
Everyone knows how much I love my Twisted Twins Jen and Sylvia Soska. Well I am pleased to announce that CJ Wallis, the man behind their amazingly designed website, has updated it to be all about Mary. Speaking of their lovely partner in crime, the wonderful Goody Two Shoes from Dead Hooker in a Trunk, Mr CJ Wallis has also updated his Fortyfps site to be all about their new creation as well. If you've not already seen the wonderful new PSA for the Twisted Twins BLOOD Drive, check it out. It's a wonderful wee video showcasing some awesome women working in the genre...and me. It's fun, it's quirky and most of all, it's all to raise awareness around the importance of giving blood. Oooh, and to announce who AMERICAN MARY is!!! Mwah!
