Happy TenThirteen Birthday to My Three Most Beloved People - X Files Creator Chris Carter, Fox Mulder and My Niece Kady!

So today marks the most important day in the nerd calendar ala Morleysaurus - October 13th, or should I say TenThirteen....the day of my most beloved darling, X Files creator Chris Carter....which then led to Fox Mulder sharing his birthday....and then years later, due to a fluke nerd mistake...my sister Suz, a total hardcore Buffy and Angel fan, gave birth to my niece Kady on this day!  So when people ask me if I ever want children...hells no.....why would I want a child when I already have the perfect one?!!  PFFFT!  HAHA.

In typical Morleysaurus fashion, I looked at my phone this morning as I was getting ready to go and do the banking, and lookee what time it was!?  HAHA.  I won't lie, I totally let out a squee of glee! :)

Anyhoo, with lots of X Files goodness coming up, here's to many more Happy Returns to my favourite people in the universe.  Yups!

And let's just enjoy that X Files trailer for the bazillionth time! :P

Holy Fucking Shit.....FIRST NEW MULDER AND SCULLY FOOTAGE in Fox's New 201 Days of X Files Trailer!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

Nothing makes my little Phile heart happier than seeing Mulder and Scully back in action...even if for only a quick second!

Celebrate all 201 (or 202 if you count double episode for The Truth!!) episodes of The X Files with Fox's 201 Days of X Files in the run up to the revival kicking off on the 24th January 2016. :)

Big thank you to Psycho Legacy director and Dexter podcast man, the all round, super rad Rob G for sending this to me as well.  Much love dude! :)

That is all. :)

Jennifer Lynch + Damien Thorn = ERMAHGERD Levels of Awesome with A&E's The Omen TV Show Damien!

Jennifer mother fucking Lynch is directing an episode of the new Damien TV series!  WOW!

Those who know me will know that I threw quite the tantrum when The Omen remake came out.  Hahahaha.  So much so that I actually started a petition to get the thing stopped.  Lol.  :)  With the wonderful success of Bates Motel however....a show that has made its way into my favourite shows EVER list....and the fact that I have total faith in A&E and executive producer Glen Mazzara, better known for The Walking Dead and The Shield....this is looking to be a bad ass show bringing Damien Thorn into the 21st Century! :)

Add my darling Jennifer Lynch into the mix...the amazing chickaroo responsible for one of the best Walking Dead episodes ever...and I am well on board this project!  Herrroooo Damien! :)

X Files Revival - Geeky First Images to Melt Your Little Phile Hearts! Chris Carter is BACK with Mulder and Scully!

Okay.  Mulder and Scully are back.  Like....they are REALLY back!  That of course makes this Little Miss Morleysaurus incredibly, Phile~tastically Xcited!  And what does an excitable Morleysaurus do.....except for squeeeeeeeeeee very loud!?!  She does the exact same thing, but whilst typing up said thoughts to share with her fellow Philes, nerds, and potential new fans who need a bit of an X education!!  ;)

Anyhoo.....EEEEEEE!!!  Just to see the back of that wonderful, amazing, just....gaaaaaaaaaah full of awesome Mr Chris Carter's head, it truly is enough to melt our little Phile hearts....I LOVE HIM, I LOVE HIM, I LOVE HIM!!!  I knew you'd be back Chris!

I've seen some comments about why is Mulder not in a suit, why is Scully's hair not as red....blah blah blah.  Well....first of all....even if you didn't watch the criminally under-rated and absolutely stunning 2nd feature, I Want to Believe, unless you were just a casual viewer or gave up on it....then you would still know that at the end of the series, Mulder and Scully are holed up in a motel room and on the run after Mulder is sentenced to death by a military tribunal for "killing" Knowle Rohrer....who was in fact a Supersoldier.  As Doggett so perfectly put it in the Season 9 finale, The Truth - "Killing the man who can't be killed!?"  Formal dress attire need not apply when one is one the run from the government !  NOPE!

In I Want to Believe, Mulder is brought in to help on the case of a missing agent....and the FBI have forgiven him.  Although they should totally be asking for Mulder's forgiveness of course...I totally agree.  HAHA. ;) At the end of I Want to Believe, Mulder and Scully are finally taking a break from darkness, and stepping into the light....by stranding themselves on a tropical island....well, kinda.  Needless to say the LOST crossover thoughts that went through my head at the time, and still do to this day....it's a total LOSTEE/PHILE explosion, haha.

So yeah.....Mulder ISN'T an FBI agent again...YET.  So he can wear whatever the hell he pleases dammit!  And OMG.  Can women not change their hair colour!?!!  Really!?!  The tone of Scully's hair, AND style changed frequently through the seasons.  So quit yer moaning people!

Anyhoo, I've seen a few wicked pictures from the set that are sneaking out, my favourite so far is THIS total Arcadia image.  HAHAHA.  They are like, SO together!!!!  I will keep telling myself this! ;)

This one is super cute too! :)

Be sure to follow Chris freakin' Carter on Instagram...yeah......GOD himself has joined at least one form of social media!  @ChrisCarter1013  Also you can find the Official X Files pages  - @thexfilesfox on Twitter and Instagram, as well as @DavidDuchovny and @GillianA.  Of course I'll also be keeping y'all up to date with Phile geekery across various social media...just look for @morleysaurus all over the place! :)

Last but not least, my favourite X Phile fan find of the day is this cracker of a video to David Duchovny's track Passenger off of his Hell or Highwater debut album.  It's amazing.  So yay, check it out.  And go follow its creator, Twitter user Amanda Ross - @ACRProdCo and go check out her YouTube channel as well. :) X Philes stick together yo!  Enjoy! xox

CALLING ALL HORROR FANS - Help Bring the Lost Creepshow 2 Segment Pinfall to Life!

Peoples of the Jeniverse, I call upon your utmost awesomeness to get onboard a totally wicked, bad-ass crowdfunding campaign.  Oooh, but what would that be I hear you ask??

Most fans of Creepshow 2 will be well aware that George A. Romero originally had five segments in his screenplay for his genius follow up to Creepshow.  Due to budget constraints, two of them never made it into the final film.  Cat from Hell eventually made it onto Tales of the Darkside: The Movie, however....Pinfall has never seen the light of day...which totally sucks as it's a wicked and incredibly fun story that will both amuse and delight horror fans.  Summed up perfectly by its tagline -
A Story about Murder, Revenge and...Bowling!

Ian Vaughan Jones, Dayle Teegarden and Witch Tree Films have decided they want to change that...which is totally awesome.  And even more awesome as it's being filmed in Scotland, and by mostly Scottish filmmakers.  Yay Scotland! :)  They even have support from Creepshow 2's Daniel Beer who played Randy in "The Raft" segment....which is pretty darn cool! :)

This is a fan film, made for the love of Creepshow, and the love of the genre.  These guys live for this shit and having worked with the majority of them, I can tell you that this film truly is in good hands.  The makeup and special effects are just amazing, and any good horror fan knows that practical effects are the best! :)

Full cast and crew won't be finalised until we have raised the money, but everyone that was involved in making this trailer is totally excited to come back.  If you look carefully, you'll see that Mr Scotch Beef himself, star of The Fairy Flag and Safe Haven, Chris Capaldi is in there as well, looking rather gore~geous! ;)

There are some amazing perks for supporters as an extra incentive to support the film, we are calling out to horror fans to give as much or as little as they can afford.  If you could share the campaign around as well, tell your horror friends and Creepshow fans all about it, send them the links and get them to see for themselves how bad ass this could be!

To keep up to date with the project, come follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and be sure to like and share and retweet our posts if you would like to see this made!

If you are a journalist or blogger, or if you write for a website, we would love for you to do a feature to support the project and entice more people to get on board.  If you would like to request further information or interviews and what not, then email jennifermorley@outlook.com with your request and I shall get back to you ASAP! :)  Thank you! xox

Dangerously 90's - Musings on the Music of Our Generation, from Grunge to Britpop and Why the 90's was Pretty Damn Awesome!

Okay, so my friend Rob gave me this genius idea for a series of blogs after he called the film Hackers, dangerously 90's.  I thought this too much of a genius tag to make something out of it, haha.  Soooo.....I am inviting some of my dearest darling friends to give me their thoughts on what made the 90's!  These are people who I love to bits, and who I rocked the 90's with.....so are totally on par with the often quirky mindset of Little Miss Morleysaurus.  And CLEARLY I still haven't quite left the 90's.  Still rockin' the dungarees and army jackets! ;) This blog is kinda the cooler side of the 90's, but do not worry, the cheesy cool IS to come!  MWAH! :)

First up, my bestest friend in the whole wide world.  The guy who inspired me in so many ways, and looked pretty freakin' epic in dungarees with the top down.  It was cool yo!  :P   Seeing as how I didn't have any older siblings, it was great having him for musical inspiration, and I am happy to say that he is still the guy I go to when I'm looking for new tunes! :)  So without further adu....

A brief thought.....

Just when it seemed like there was nothing, suddenly there was everything. Music was groaning under the strain of behemoths such as Phil Collins, Paul Simon, Elton John, and Bryan Adams (although mercifully the New Kids on the Block were starting to die the death) and the 80´s hangover looked like it was never going to go away.

Thankfully Newton´s third law came to our rescue “When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction on the first body” and man did the second body ever exert.

Back then I was only really beginning to develop my musical tastes and I was lucky that there were many interesting moments in music happening at the time, also it´s worth remembering that I had a cassette Walkman (It depressed me greatly when I saw these in a freakin' HISTORY museum....man I'm getting old, haha!!) and a record player, this was pre, well pre just about every technology we take for granted now, so to discover a new band/album demanded a bit of leg work and quite a few duds made it home to the collection (I did at some point upgrade to a Discman, which still works, whereas my last 4 Ipods don´t).

Seemingly from nowhere there was a tidal wave of guitar noise coming out of the States and I devoured the Sup Pop label and most of the other bands that were painted with the Grunge/Alternative brush.

You know who I mean, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, L7, Rage Against The Machine, Alice in Chains (any excuse to listen to Down in a Hole, heehee!!etcetc.

And by following that beautiful noise I discovered Modest Mouse, Pavement, The Flaming Lips, Built to Spill, Galaxie 500, Yo La Tengo on and on down the road to an endless list of band names - you don´t need me to do your shopping list for you (that´s the fun bit, for me anyway).

It wasn´t all lumberjack shirts and tatty converse however as back on this side of the water, we were still riding the wave of the Stone Roses first album.  Which along with Pills ´n´ Thrills and Bellyaches, gave us new air to breathe.

Add in The Charlatans (pictured above), Ride and a few others and our lungs were fit to burst.  These bands were labeled as Indie/Madchester and opened the door for kids like me to cross the line and dip their toes into what was called “dance music” back then (Screamadelica was the trailblazer, and for the labelists - indie not Madchester), but my roots by then were firmly in the guitar camp so I never really got that far into it.

With the release of a few seminal albums there was a whole new world to discover, and a CD collection to build (vinyl was becoming harder to come by).

As we approached the middle 90´s the Brit Pop thing was taking shape with Parklife and Definitely Maybe (Live Forever is my favourite track of this album, and I totally think sums up just awesomeness!!  Jennifer x) everywhere and anywhere you went, which was great until the laddism took over and Brit Pop became more about fashion than music (see also just about every other decent music scene ever), but there was a period of 3-4 years where it was nothing but epic times all around - shouting lager lager lager - indeed.

It was a time where I felt that the bands were ours, men and women just like us, only they were making great tunes

Everything felt new, from politics (New Labour), booze (alcopops), football (the premier league in England) and TV was new (Sky or BSkyB or whatever they were called at the time)

Then Newton´s law came back at us, the money men weren´t making enough, Celine Dion, Spice Girls, Boyzone, and other bloated cash cows started to drown the airwaves. Couple with suicides, fame, jail, death and to a degree the rise of the internet (Napster wasn´t too far away) some bands broke up, some were never given enough time to develop and others seemed to have hit their creative peak, or maybe they were just so hyped up that anything they released would have been disappointing.

All is was not lost though, that decade gave us so many gems, musical memories so go and check out the bands I have mentioned and despite what I said two paragraphs ago I will give you a brief listening list of some of my personal favourites, and please listen to the whole album I despise skippers.

In no order and excluding the most obvious heavy hitters...

The Charlatans – Up to Our Hips

New Fast Automatic Daffodils – Pigeonhole

Modest Mouse – The Lonesome Crowded West

Teenage Fanclub – Bandwagonesque

Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane over the Sea

Ride – Going Blank Again

The Flaming Lips – The Soft Bulletin

Introducing Damon Runyan as Charles Falco in History Channel's Gangland Undercover - The REAL Sons of Anarchy!

Anyone who knows me will know that I'm hardcore missing a certain biker gang right now.  So much so that as of late, I've been finding myself watching documentaries on notorious biker gangs throughout the years.  I guess it is truly perfect timing that a new show from the History Channel, Gangland Undercover, is getting my mind all down and dirty with bikers again....this time however, it's based on actual events!!

This shit is so fucked up, that it's hard to NOT respect the big ass pair of balls that Charles Falco had!  This man infiltrated not one....but THREE outlaw biker gangs over a five year period!

Falco's serious undercover work led to 62 arrests, in a world where, had he been discovered....well....needless to say, it would NOT have been pretty!!  And I'm pretty damn sure that his death would not have been quick either!

Gangland Undercover is based on Charles Falco's book Vagos, Mongols and Outlaws, and featuring a silhouetted introduction from Falco himself each episode, in which we see Damon Runyan's gritty and realistic portrayal of  Falco.....and I'm not gonna lie.....he sells it fucking gooooood!!

Actor Damon Runyan has stated in interviews, including this one with my bud Troy Foreman for his site The PC Principle, that he worked closely with Charles Falco himself in preparation for the role, and still speaks to him daily...and I think that kind of relationship really shines through in Runyan's performance.  It was kind of like when Johnny Depp lived in Hunter S. Thompson's basement for four months in preparation for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...you're gonna hear a lot a crazy shit...and you're gonna get a belter of a performance because of it!! :)

I love me my dark, gritty shows.....Gangland Undercover is the kinda grit that would stick in your cheeks after you've had your face dragged along the highway dangling off the back of a motorbike.  These guys take no shit, and Falco lived a life so dangerous, that's it's no wonder that he didn't completely lose the plot!  What I find truly remarkable as well, is that he's not even in witness protection anymore!!

Definitely be sure to check out Troy's pretty rad interview...it's definitely worth a read, as it's a nice look into just what it takes to be an actor going into such a head fuck of a role!

Go check out the show, LIKE the Facebook page for the show, as well as Charles Falco's FB fanpage too.  You can also follow Damon Runyan on Twitter - @damonrunyan.  This guy is most definitely one to watch! :)
